Angelica Shirley Carpenter
Angelica Shirley Carpenter, Curator Emerita of the Arne Nixon Center for the Study of Children's Literature at California State University, Fresno, is the author of five biographies for young people, including L. Frank Baum, Lewis Carroll and 2018’s Born Criminal: Matilda Joslyn Gage, Radical Suffragist. In 2020, to celebrate the centennial of women’s suffrage in the United States, she will publish a picture book, The Voice of Liberty, about an 1886 protest by women’s rights activists at the dedication of the Statue of Liberty.
