R. Eli Paul
History

R. Eli Paul is the editor of and a contributor to 2019’s The Frontier Army: Episodes from Dakota and the West. After four decades in public history, he retired as head of the Missouri Valley Special Collections at the Kansas City Public Library, Kansas City, MO. Paul holds degrees from the University of Missouri and George Washington University and has published extensively on Plains Indian history. In 2005 he received the Robert M. Utley Award from the Western History Association for Blue Water Creek and the First Sioux War, 1854-1856.
