Traci Sorell writes fiction, nonfiction and poetry for children. Her story in verse, At the Mountain’s Base, celebrates history-making women pilots. Her middle-grade novel, Indian No More, explores the impact of federal termination and relocation policies on a 1950s Umpqua family. Her Sibert Medal and Orbis Pictus Honor Award-winning picture book, We Are Grateful: Otsaliheliga received starred reviews from Kirkus Reviews, School Library Journal and others. A former federal Indian law attorney and policy advocate, Sorell is a citizen of the Cherokee Nation and lives in northeastern Oklahoma.
