Eric Steven Zimmer is a senior historian at Vantage Point Historical Services in Rapid City and a research fellow at the Center for American Indian Research and Native Studies on the Pine Ridge Reservation. His new book is The Question is “Why?” Stanford M. Adelstein: A Jewish Life in South Dakota. Zimmer’s work has appeared in a variety of regional and national publications, and his PhD dissertation (American History, University of Iowa) won the 2017 Rachel Carson Prize from the American Society for Environmental History.
