Christine Stewart-Nuñez, poet and memoirist, is the author of books including 2016’s Untrussed and Bluewords Greening, which won a 2018 Whirling Prize in Poetry for writing on the theme of disabilities. Her awards for creative nonfiction include “An Archeology of Secrets,” which was a Notable Essay in Best American Essays 2012. Stewart-Nuñez is a professor in the English Department at South Dakota State University and was recently named the South Dakota Poet Laureate (2019-2023).
