Harley Zephier

Harley Zephier
Harley L. Zephier, Wanbli Hoksila (Eagle Boy), was born in Faith, South Dakota and grew up learning Mnincoju Lakota beliefs by listening to the elders of his medicine family. He and his brother Robin have been asked to become storytellers of their tradition and culture, and they worked together to write Warrior Is, the story of their great-grandfather, Mato Niyanpi (Saved by Bear). Zephier has spent many decades in search of understanding through participation in male passage ceremonies, including the sweat lodge, vision quest, and sun dance.
