Castlewood, S.D. native Chuck Raasch earned a journalism degree from SDSU in 1976. He worked at the Huron Plainsman and the Sioux Falls Argus Leader before becoming one of the five original cover story writers for USA TODAY, as well as a national correspondent and political columnist for Gannett. Raasch has had bylines from 49 states and four continents and served as a Knight Fellow at Stanford University. He is now Washington correspondent for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. His wife, Sandy, is President and CEO of the National Press Foundation.
