William Kent Krueger
Raised in the Cascade Mountains of Oregon, William Kent Krueger briefly attended Stanford University before being kicked out for radical activities. Before becoming a full-time writer, he worked in several manly enterprises, including logging and heavy construction. Desolation Mountain, the 17th entry in his New York Times bestselling Cork O’Connor mystery series, comes out in August. His 2013 stand-alone novel Ordinary Grace won several awards, including the Edgar Award for Best Novel, and was chosen as the 2015 One Book South Dakota.
