Lexington, Kentucky, native Whitnee Thorp lives in Box Elder, South Dakota, and teaches at Oglala Lakota College on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. She earned her MFA in Creative Writing from the Bluegrass Writers Studio at Eastern Kentucky University and has attended the Disquiet International Writing Residency in Lisbon, Portugal, among other conferences and workshops. Her chapbook Cicurate recently won the South Dakota Poetry Society’s annual chapbook contest, and her chapbook Kintsukuroi was published in July 2017.
