Cowman Stories of ranching life across generations in South Dakota.
Fourth-generation rancher, Bruce Roseland, shares stories about challenges and blessings of ranch life from his grandparents and parents, and what he has learned about qualities of character most needed today. His stories are in the form of free verse poetry, from his Will Rogers Award-winning book, Cowman. Bruce will read a poem and encourage discussion of the group’s own experiences of surviving and thriving in rural life. He explains the craft of writing grounded poetry. Participants are welcome to bring a poem of their own to read and discuss.
