We invite you to take part in South Dakota Humanties Council programming. Our mission is to “support and promote the exchange of idea to foster a thoughtful and engaged society,” and we work with museums, libraries and other cultural, educational and community-based organizations across the state to inspire curiosity and the quest for understanding our place in the world.

We support public programming in literature, history, civics, the visual arts, and other humanities disciplines. In 2009, SDHC presented over 250 programs in 60 different communities.

Select a program from the left to learn more about it, or browse the Events Calendar to find an upcoming event in your area.
