From the Promise of Railroad Tracks
It took courage to move out onto the prairie of Dakota Territory following the promise of railroad tracks and an assumption a town would be built. About 300 newspaper articles from The Egan Express of 1880-1881 form the basis of the story of the birth of Egan…not how it might have happened but how it did. Suzanne Fuller's great-grandparents were among those early settlers and their letters and heirlooms add authenticity. Those early settlers banded together to form a community that rebuilt after a tornado and endured that horrible winter.
