Gail Shaffer Blankenau
Gail Shaffer Blankenau is a historian, professional genealogist, and award-winning author based in Lincoln, Nebraska. Her latest book, Journey to Freedom: Uncovering the Grayson Sisters’ Escape from Nebraska Territory, is a finalist for the Midwest Book Award in History. Blankenau holds an MA in history from the University of Nebraska–Kearney and received the 2023 James L. Sellers prize for her research on the Grayson sisters.
