From Wentworth to the Western Front: The World War One Odyssey of Private John Warns
This program places the WW I-era correspondence of the Warns family from Wentworth, SD into the context of world events surrounding the war. The program explores the way WW I impacted the most isolated areas, as the Wilson administration sought to convince the American people that Germany was the enemy of the United States. This family correspondence generates a lively and realistic portrayal of life on the home front of rural South Dakota, as well as the war front in Europe.
