Dennis H. Knight
Dennis H. Knight grew up in Clear Lake and is professor emeritus in the Botany Department at the University of Wyoming, where he taught ecology and forest management from 1966 to 2000. His research focuses on the effects of natural and human-caused disturbances on forest and grassland ecosystems in the Rocky Mountains and Great Plains. A former president of the Ecological Society of America, Knight is the author of Mountains and Plains and the co-author of Ecology of Dakota Landscapes.
