THE 2024 FESTIVAL IS “IN THE BOOKS”!

September 28, 2024

The 2024 South Dakota Festival of Books wrapped up last weekend, leaving attendees with fresh ideas to ponder and literary connections to treasure.

From Juana Medina’s high-energy presentations to 2,000 third graders on Thursday to Kao Kalia Yang’s moving reflections on family stories on Sunday, the Festival engaged, informed, and entertained readers and writers of all ages.

One attendee summed up the event this way: “I believe the Festival of Books is a main artery for creativity in South Dakota, delivering necessary opportunities for artistic life in this state. I’ve had some life-changing and awe-inspiring experiences at the Festival of Books.”

We hope all Festivalgoers had at least one such experience!
