Paul Horsted
Paul Horsted has been photographing South Dakota for more than 40 years, since picking up a camera at Brandon Valley High School and carrying it to South Dakota State University. His photography has appeared in publications such as LIFE, Reader’s Digest, USA Today, National Geographic, Smithsonian and South Dakota Magazine. In books like Exploring with Custer: The 1874 Black Hills Expedition, just released in a revised fourth edition, Horsted seeks out historic photo sites to create precisely matched modern images.
