Traci Sorell
Traci Sorell writes children’s books that center the humanity of citizens of Native Nations. Recent works include Powwow Day; We Are Still Here! Native American Truths Everyone Should Know (a Sibert and American Indian Youth Literature Award honor picture book); and Classified: The Secret Career of Mary Golda Ross, Cherokee Aerospace Engineer (an Orbis Pictus and AIYLA honor picture book). An enrolled citizen of the Cherokee Nation, Sorell lives with her family on her tribe’s reservation in northeastern Oklahoma.
