Dana Yost was a daily newspaper editor and writer in the Upper Midwest for 19 years. He has received the Minnesota News Council’s prestigious Minnesota Journalism Accountability Award, as well as two daily paper columnist of the year awards and two editorial writer of the year awards from the Minnesota Newspaper Association. Since 2008, Yost has written nine books – four poetry, two history, two essay collections and one novel. His latest chapbook, Free-Fall, includes many poems dealing with mental illness.
