Bonny Specker, a recently retired epidemiologist, has published over 200 scientific papers and chapters. She has drawn on her lifelong fascination with the investigative work of early epidemiologists to write two historical novels: Spot On: The 1846 Faroe Islands Measles Outbreak and Smallpox: The 1876 New Iceland Outbreak on Lake Winnipeg. Specker lives in Brookings, where she serves on the City Council.
