Festival Event Tickets Available Now!

The 2022 South Dakota Festival of Books (and Young Readers Festival) event schedule and tickets are now available at SDBookFestival.com!

Admission to the Festival of Books is free, but these special events require a registration fee or an RSVP:

  • Author Reception – Sept. 22, 6:30-8:30 p.m. $50
    Meet Festival authors while enjoying drinks and hors d’oeuvres.
  • Workshop – PIVOT! – Sept. 23, 10-11:45 a.m. $20
    Join author Christine Mager Wevik for “PIVOT! What To Do When You Hit the Writers’ Proverbial Wall.”
  • Workshop – POETRY – Sept. 23, 10-11:45 a.m. $20
    Join poet Jodi Andrews for “Crafting Poems: The Art of Conveying Emotional Truths.”
  • Workshop – PUBLISHING – Sept. 23, 12:30-2:15 p.m. $20
    Join author Marj Charlier for “Exploring Your Publishing Options.”
  • Workshop – VETERANS – Sept. 23, 1:30-3:15 p.m. $20
    Join U.S. Army veteran and author Colin D. Halloran to discuss and practice ways of telling the stories of war and homecoming. Family members and caregivers of veterans are also welcome!
    NOTE: FREE FOR VETERANS! Call 605-688-6113 or email info@sdhumanities.org to register for your complimentary ticket.
  • Workshop – PAINTING – Sept. 24, 2-3:45 p.m. $10
    Join author and artist Sara Woster for “Art Can Save Your Life: Painting for All Levels.” Let your creative juices flow as you paint a floral image to take home!
  • Anniversary Party RSVP – Sept. 24, 5-6:30 p.m. Free
    Celebrate 50 Years of SDHC and 20 Years of the Festival of Books with refreshments and reminiscing!
